Red vs. Shield tactics

Since a lot of you guys seem to favor nice, big weapons, I thought I'd ask about your insight on fighting shields.

At Ragnarok, I learned to take like a full-body guard when on the defense, and to either pivot around on the shieldman's shield arm-side and whack them from there. And in a line, break shields and feint for a kill, but take other shields. Oh yeah, and shieldmen seemed to like to cripple and leave a red-user, even when they don't know that he actually isn't injured. Made for some interesting tumbles!

Do you guys have any tricks for reds?

Most of our guys who use reds use them for intimidation, but for breaking shields, most of us just machine-gun the shield xD

Most red users in our chapter, as mog said, use them for intimidation. A few of us actually go in and break the shield or go around.
